I'm a Master Gardener Volunteer Because...

"It's a wonderful opportunity to serve our youth." — Dianne Busch, Marion County

April is National Volunteer Month, and we're celebrating our Master Gardener Volunteers (MGVs) and all they do for the love of their craft and their community.

We asked MGVs around the state why they do all the wonderful work they do. Here's an answer from one of our Marion County Master Gardener Volunteers, Dianne Busch. "It's a wonderful opportunity to be in the community and demonstrate what our university and community have to offer," she says. As a retiree, Dianne says, "I'm busier now than I ever was, but I'm actually happier."

Volunteer Month recognizes and promotes the spirit of service, and raises awareness about how volunteering changes lives and strengthens communities.
