We're Master Gardener Volunteers Because...

"Gardening runs in my family." — Amos Reid, Alachua County

We're celebrating our Master Gardener Volunteers (MGVs) and all they do for the love of their craft and their community.

We asked MGVs around the state why they do all the wonderful work they do. Here's an answer from two of our Alachua County Master Gardener Volunteers, Amos and Mary Reid. Amos love teaching what he know to the public, and Mary enjoys giving back to their community.

Volunteer Month recognizes and promotes the spirit of service, and raises awareness about how volunteering changes lives and strengthens communities.
