Leaves are rough and\u00a0<em>lobed<\/em>, similar to cucumber, but not as angular. Fruit is round to oval, sometimes ribbed, sometimes with a netted surface and has interior seed cavity. The edible flesh is orange. Flowers are bright yellow. The female flower is identified by the\u00a0<em>ovary<\/em>\u00a0below the petals. The male flower is held on a longer stem and does not develop a fruit. Seed is similar to cucumber seed, but a little larger and more orange in color.
