The ten to twelve inch long leaves are\u00a0<em>alternate<\/em>,\u00a0<em>simple<\/em>,\u00a0<em>oblong<\/em>, leathery, and dark green above, rusty-colored below. The flowers are white, with five\u00a0<em>petals<\/em>, and are produced in stiff\u00a0<em>panicles<\/em>\u00a0of three to ten flowers. The flowers have a sweet aroma that can be smelled from a distance. The fruit is golden yellow and fuzzy skinned. The dried flower can often be seen on the bottom of the fruit. There are a few large, shiny, dark seeds in the soft, tart, yellowish flesh.
