It is characterized by a rounded, open crown. The small leaves are\u00a0<em>simple<\/em>,\u00a0<em>alternate<\/em>, less than two inches long, and\u00a0<em>ovate<\/em>\u00a0to\u00a0<em>elliptical<\/em>\u00a0in shape. They are thick, leathery and dark green with\u00a0<em>margins<\/em>\u00a0that are scalloped to\u00a0<em>serrate<\/em>. The small inconspicuous flower ranges from white to cream to gray.
