The\u00a0<em>simple<\/em>,\u00a0<em>opposite<\/em>, leaves are\u00a0<em>whorled<\/em>,\u00a0<em>oblong<\/em>, and up to four inches long. They are leathery and pliable with short\u00a0<em>petioles<\/em>.
