The coral bean has\u00a0<em>compound<\/em>\u00a0leaves that are\u00a0<em>alternate<\/em>, semi-<em>deciduous<\/em>, light to medium green in color, and four to eight inches long. The\u00a0<em>leaflets<\/em>\u00a0are spade-shaped. Scarlet, tubular flowers are produced from April to June.
