It has a thick,\u00a0<em>succulent<\/em>\u00a0trunk and branches, and can resemble a small tree. The thick,\u00a0<em>succulent<\/em>\u00a0leaves are\u00a0<em>opposite,<\/em>\u00a0<em>obovate<\/em>\u00a0and often have red edges. The leaves do not have\u00a0<em>petioles<\/em>, so they are attached directly to the stem.
