The orchids in this genus often develop a long reed-like stem with a typical length of more than one foot. Some appear densely covered with short white hairs. Short,\u00a0<em>ovate<\/em>\u00a0leaves grow\u00a0<em>alternately<\/em>\u00a0over the length of the stems. The white, lavender, and combination colored flowers are produced on long arching\u00a0<em>racemes<\/em>.
