Rutabaga (Brassica napus, Napobrassica group)

The edible roots are smooth, and sometimes lumpy and irregular. Larger, rounder, and firmer than turnips, they are slightly oblong and white or pale yellow with or without purple at the top. The leaves are collard-like but more divided at the base. They are smooth and waxy, unlike turnips that have fuzzy leaves. Seeds are similar to cabbage.
