Vegetables
Garlic (Allium sativum)
The plant is onion-like in appearance. Green leaves are flat and have an onion or garlic odor when crushed. The white to purplish bulbs may be separated into sections (edible cloves) and have a distinct, pungent odor. The bulb and cloves have a white, papery covering. The flower is an umbel, held at the end of a stalk that arises from the bulb.
