Lily of the Nile (Agapanthus spp.)
The Lily of the Nile is an upright herbaceous perennial with a height of two to four feet when in bloom. It has up to 20 evergreen, simple, strap-like leaves per plant which are arching and are eight to twelve inches in length. Umbels of large, blue, funnel-shaped flowers appear atop long stalks in summer. Flower color can also be lavender, purple or white.
