Calathea (Calathea spp.)

Calathea is an upright herbaceous perennial to two to four feet tall. The simpleovate leaves in various shades of green, cream, white, pink, and silver are on maroon stems. The undersides of the leaves are dark purple making a striking contrast to the lighter colored tops of the leaves. White flowers are small and inconspicuous. Fruit is dry and inconspicuous.
