Plant Clinics to be Held at Taylor County Library

The Taylor County Public Library will host a monthly Master Gardener Volunteer Plant Clinic on the fourth Monday of each month, beginning on Monday, February 22, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The libray is located at at 403 N. Washington Street in Perry.

Presentations will include a wide range of gardening topics, according to UF/IFAS Taylor County Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent Lisa Strange.

The first plant clinic's presentation will be "Newbies' Guide to Vegetable Gardening."

Program Description

Learn what to plant, when, how, and harvesting for your spring garden. Take home a free vegetable gardening guide published by the University of Florida, as well as pre-planted veggie seeds, and participate in the optional plant exchange activity. Bring a plant, or anything gardening-related you want to get rid of and take home something new. Growing your own food is safer, saves you money, and is proven to be a good exercise for your body and mind.

Children must be accompanied by an adult, and CDC guidelines will be met with masks and social distancing required. For more information, contact the Taylor Count Extension office at (850) 838-3508.
