Weeping Fig (Ficus benjamina)
Sometimes called Benjamin fig, weeping fig is a houseplant or (in South Florida) an evergreen tree with drooping, spreading branches growing to 60 feet tall and wide. The leaves, which exude a milky sap, are simple and two to four inches long. They are alternate, ovate–elliptic in shape, glossy green, with a leathery texture. Inconspicuous flowers develop into round, red fruit less than 1/2 inch long.
