Eastern Lubber Grasshopper

Most Floridians are familar with the Eastern Lubber Grasshopper. These large, slow-moving insects have distinct coloring that changes over their lifespan. Essentially harmless to humans, "lubbers" can cause damage in large numbers (they are a well-known pest on amaryllis), but are easy to control—simply remove them by hand.
