Chives (Allium schoenoprasum)

Chives are small, dark green plants that grow in clumps. Leaves are very thin, tubular and hollow. Plants do not form onion bulbs. The flower is lavender, roundish and edible. This herb gives foods a mild onion flavor and is used to flavor potatoes, soups, salads, dips, and fish.
