Martin County Declares Master Gardener Day
During the March 6th regular meeting, the Martin County Board of County Commissioners issued a proclamation declaring March 14th as Master Gardener day, honoring 130 active UF/IFAS Master Gardeners that serve local residents.
Master Gardeners are trained volunteers that assist homeowners in the community using research-based horticulture information. In 2016, Martin Master Gardeners donated 8,610 hours of volunteer time and educated 10,951 members of the community—the equivalent of 4 full-time employees.
