2007 Master Gardener Award Winners

Master Gardener volunteers were recognized October 24 at the 27th Annual Florida Master Gardener Continued Training Conference.

Awards by Category

Beautification/Enhancement: St. Johns County

Master Gardeners whose efforts beautify and enhance their community.

Demonstration/Educational Garden: Leon County

Award-winning gardens have educational components and effectively reach their intended audiences.

Educational Materials Development: Seminole County

Recognizing proactive educational materials for the general public or other Florida Master Gardeners.

Extension Awareness: Nassau County

Master Gardeners who promote awareness of the University of Florida/IFAS and the Florida Cooperative Extension Service.

General Achievement: Seminole County

Recognizing Master Gardener involvement unique to any of the other categories.

Outstanding Master Gardener: Nassau County

Recognizing a Master Gardener who has made outstanding efforts in several projects and activities.

Personal Communications: Highlands County

Awarded to Master Gardeners that are exceptionally reactive or responsive to telephoned questions or concerns of the public.

Service to 4-H and Other Youth: Hillborough County

Recognizing Master Gardeners who make outstanding contributions to Florida 4-H and/or other youth horticulture groups.

Special Audiences: Walton County

Recognizing Master Gardeners who make contributions to special audiences such as senior citizens or disabled persons.

Written Mass Communications: Charlotte County

This award is based on excellence in communications including news articles, feature stories, or columns.

County Master Gardener Newsletter: Leon County

Awarded for newsletters, either exclusively for Master Gardeners or also for the public, distributed in the county.
