Invasive Exotics: Introduction
An invasive exotic is a non-native plant or animal species that is causing environmental or economic harm, competing with Florida's native species. Invasives also have an unfair advantage: they usually don't have their natural enemies to keep them in check. If nothing is done, these non-native plants and animals can wipe out a native species completely.
