Garden Camps for Kids

It can be tough to keep kids occupied during the long days of summer. If you’re an avid gardener, why not consider sending your own kids to a garden camp this summer?

Garden camps allow children to explore their natural sense of discovery while teaching them about the environment and nature.

Garden camps often teach kids about soil, plants, pests, the nutrient cycle, conservation, and even nutrition. The hands-on experiences that camps provide are designed to be fun and interactive. They strengthen science skills and can help kids grasp important real-world concepts.

Check with any local botanic gardens or arboretums to see if they offer camps. Many Extension offices also offer camps, either through 4-H programs or through the Junior Master Gardener Program.
