Salt-Tolerant Lawn Grasses

In Florida, living near the ocean has its pleasures, but it can be tough on your lawn. There are several types of turfgrass that are salt-tolerant, but the best choices for homeowners are St. Augustinegrass and zoysia. While they can't be irrigated with saltwater, they can handle some salt spray. Seashore paspalum has excellent salt-tolerance but requires such a high level of maintenance that it's not recommended for home lawns.
