Native to Southeast Asia, the carambola, or starfruit tree, has been grown in South Florida for decades. The yellow fruit is ribbed in such a way that when sliced, the pieces look like stars, thus its common name. Crisp and juicy, starfruit are high in potassium and vitamin C.
