Bottle Trees

Once seen across the rural South, the bottle tree is making a comeback. This ancient tradition stems from the belief that bottles (especially blue) lure evil spirits in at night and trap them to be destroyed by the morning sun. Add a whimsical touch to the landscape with your own bottle tree: it can be made from a dead tree with the branches cut short, a specially made "tree" crafted from metal, or make your own with a pole and small pieces of wood for "branches."
